Samantha King, M.A., LPC

Samantha King LPCSamantha enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults in all stages of development.  She has worked as a mental health practitioner in crisis stabilization, agency and alternative equine-assisted psychotherapy programs. Samantha has extensive experience working with middle school and high school children and adolescents as a school counselor and student assistance program coordinator. In addition, she has served as a live-in Wilderness Counselor for an at-risk youth program. Samantha is skilled in using Reality Therapy/Choice Theory as well as experiential therapies, such as Gestalt, Play/Expressive Arts/Narrative, Adventure, and Equine-assisted Psychotherapy.  Recently, she has achieved special certification for treating Trauma survivors.

Samantha works with her clients to heal and empower them, so they can make lifestyle choices to become their “best self”. She uses a variety of cognitive, behavioral, psych-educational, and experiential treatment techniques tailored to the specific needs of each client.

Samantha holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling with an emphasis in School Counseling from Gardner-Webb University.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine.  She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in North Carolina and a member of the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of North Carolina (LPCANC).
