Link Simpson, MA, LPC

LinkSimpsonLink particularly enjoys working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He spent four years working with at-risk youth, juvenile offenders, and families while completing his undergraduate studies and interned as a School Counselor in middle and high school settings. He takes a collaborative approach in working with clients, helping each individual develop his or her own unique counseling goals and determine a plan to achieve those goals. Link strives to ensure that each counseling session provides a safe and productive place to share.

Recognizing that no single counseling approach/theory is appropriate for every client, Link adjusts his therapy to best meet the needs of each client. He works most often with Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Person-Centered Counseling Theory, and Reality Theory techniques. Occasionally, he will assign homework designed to help improve and reinforce work done during counseling sessions.

Link holds a Master of Arts degree in Counseling with an emphasis on School Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He holds a K-12 School Counselor License from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and is a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Link is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in the state of North Carolina, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA)
